Tips for HIV Providers

 

This tip sheet, meant for HIV/AIDS providers, outlines the options a provider has when working with a client who might be experiencing violence in her/his relationship(s). This can act as a guideline towards improving services to respond to the needs of people at risk for or diagnosed with HIV/AIDS who might also be victims of violence. Information provided includes how to talk about DV, suggestions about partnering with a local DV provider, information about sexual safety planning, and suggestions on how to change organizational policies and procedures. The importance of implementing these guidelines for all clients and with all service providers is stressed.
