NFL Misses Opportunity to Go Purple

October 8, 2014

Mounting pressure on the NFL to “get it right”, including our petition for players to wear purple during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, has resulted in the NFL airing powerful public service announcements and creating internal policies that address domestic violence.

While we are disappointed that the NFL will not be joining us in going purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we know that millions across the nation will wear their purple with pride. In fact, on October 23rd, we encourage everyone across the nation to join us for #PurpleThursday.

We all have a role to play in ending domestic violence. We will continue to urge the NFL to use their platforms to increase visibility on this often ignored issue.
