Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Required for Appointment:
Six years of experience* in the provision of domestic or gender-based violence prevention services; the provision of human services, training and education, government, social justice or gender-based advocacy services; or public policy research and development.

*Substitutions: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; a master’s degree may substitute for five years of specialized experience; or a Ph.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have experience in engaging diverse communities in implementing survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive gender-based violence services; experience in facilitating training seminars/workshops or public presentations; strong writing, speaking, organizational, and computer skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Description:
This position is in the Bureau of Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Programming of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV) and is supervised by the Assistance Director of Housing and Economic Empowerment. The incumbent is responsible for assisting OPDV in fulfilling its responsibilities related to NYS Executive Order 17 which established Gender-Based Violence and the Workplace polices as well as supporting other public entities and private businesses on the implementation of workplace gender-based violence policies.
