Catch up on Recreational Reading over the Holidays

December 20, 2013

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) hosts a book club, Reader with a Cause, on Goodreads.com and we’ve just updated our “To Read” bookshelf! The holidays are a great time to catch up on leisure reading – on the plane or in front of the fireplace with some cocoa – so why don’t you join us for an upcoming read? We’ve got something for everyone in the New Year:

  • Currently reading: Gone Girl – the “un-put-down-able” whodunit thriller about one woman’s disappearance from her home in Missouri
  • January 1 – February 15: Orange is the New Black – the memoir-turned-Netflix-sensation about one woman’s year in a women’s prison
  • February 16 – March 31: Divergent – the latest Young Adult smash, featuring a dystopian Chicago setting and a shy-but-scrappy protagonist (the movie adaptation comes out in theaters mid-March)
  • April 1 – May 15: Lean In – the book version of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s hugely popular TEDTalk, that exhorts women to “sit at the table,” seek challenges, take risks, and pursue their goals
