Washington, DC – “We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” said Deborah J. Vagins, President and CEO of the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV). “Justice Ginsburg was a champion of civil and women’s rights, a trailblazing and brilliant jurist, a hero and inspiration to generations working for a better world, and a beacon of justice to the very end.
“As a lawyer, her theories and arguments were groundbreaking. As a member of the Supreme Court, her decisions changed the world for so many yearning for fairness and equal rights, and when she was not in the majority, her dissents still moved mountains, providing roadmaps for the work yet to be done,” said Vagins. “We reaffirm our commitment to work in her name for a more just, more safe, and more equitable future for everyone. We mourn with the nation and send our deepest condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time.”
