Washington, DC – Each year, GivingTuesday commemorates a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. This GivingTuesday, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) and Ring are pleased to announce the third year of the Ring Donation Program for Domestic Violence Survivors as we work to transform the world for domestic violence survivors.
To date, Ring has donated 20,000 Ring Doorbells and Stick-Up Cams to over 600 nonprofit organizations across the country and federally recognized tribal organizations whose primary mission is to support domestic violence survivors. Organizations provide these devices to survivors who use them as a part of their safety planning. Along with the device itself and the cost of shipping, Ring donates a free Ring Home subscription for the life of each device.
“As Ring enters its third year of partnership with the National Network to End Domestic Violence, we’re proud to expand our work with NNEDV to support survivor safety. We’ve heard how Ring products continue to be one of the most requested pieces of technology for survivors. That is why we are increasing our product donation this year and providing 15,000 Ring cameras for survivors around the country,” said Liz Hamren, CEO of Ring. “As we head into 2025, we remain committed to working towards a common goal of empowering survivors to protect what matters most to them – their families, their homes, and their sense of security. We look forward to our continued collaboration with NNEDV on initiatives that help drive meaningful impact.”
This year, an additional 15,000 Ring Doorbells, Stick-Up Cams, and Ring Home subscriptions are now available via TechSoup. Ring and NNEDV are thrilled to announce this expansion of our partnership, an increase over previous years’ 10,000 devices. Ring’s generous expansion is thanks to positive feedback from participating organizations, survivors’ needs, and the ongoing transformative impact of this partnership. In the spirit of GivingTuesday, this generosity will support survivors and organizations throughout the year, along with bolstering NNEDV’s work to create a world where domestic violence no longer exists.
Eligible organizations (including those that received devices last year) may order up to 48 devices per organization during the 2024-2025 program year. Devices will be available in bundles of six, with a $60 administrative fee per bundle to cover Tech Soup’s operating costs.
As one recipient organization shared: “The Ring donation program has been so valuable to the survivors we serve in rural Kansas. Survivors have used the Ring as an extra security measure when remaining in their own homes or after they have moved into a new residence. They can monitor their home during the day while they are away and feel a bit safer in their residence. We can’t put a price on the feeling of safety for our survivors. This program has been life-changing and lifesaving.”
Key to the program is NNEDV’s Safety Net team, which shares privacy and security best practices with recipient organizations to ensure advocates can effectively support survivors’ safe and informed use of these devices.
“For many domestic violence survivors, technology offers a lifeline to access resources and regain control of their lives,” said Stephanie Love-Patterson, NNEDV President & CEO. “Survivors know best what they need, and security cameras are important parts of many survivors’ safety plans. NNEDV is proud to continue this impactful partnership and grateful for Ring’s continued commitment to survivors.”
