Washington, DC – The Board of Directors of the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is pleased to announce that, after a nationwide search, they have hired Stephanie Love-Patterson as the new President & CEO.
“We are excited to welcome Stephanie Love-Patterson to her new role with NNEDV. She possesses the skills and commitment needed to lead the organization into the future,” said Susan Higginbotham, outgoing Board Chair.
Love-Patterson is a Chicago native who has been with Connections for Abused Women and their Children for nearly 25 years. She served the last ten years as their Executive Director, providing innovative leadership focusing on strategic planning, adjusting to community needs, and increasing organizational support and capacity. In addition, Stephanie served as Vice President and President of the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence. In that role, she supported domestic violence organizations within the state, advocated for programs and survivors, and worked closely with legislators.
“I am honored to step into the role as President & CEO of NNEDV, an organization with a long history of providing national leadership and support for domestic violence coalitions, local programs, and a vital support to survivors who rely on them. With a mission to end domestic violence, NNEDV is a critical voice in highlighting and informing key legislative initiatives. Domestic violence impacts all communities, especially communities that have experienced marginalization and discrimination in addition to violence. I look forward to focusing on NNEDV’s priorities and essential national work,” said Love-Patterson.
Love-Patterson will begin her tenure with NNEDV on June 24, 2024.
The Board is grateful to Dr. Wendy Mahoney, NNEDV’s Interim President & CEO, who stepped in last fall to provide much-needed leadership and support for staff, programs, and functions. Her strong relationships with colleagues and coalition experience provided stability during the search, and we sincerely appreciate her contributions.
The Board thanks Blessing Okorougo, the Search Committee chair, and the members of the committee for their time and commitment to identifying NNEDV’s new leader.
