NNEDV Named a Finalist in .ORG Website Makeover Contest

November 25, 2013

Cast Your Vote to Help NNEDV Win a Fully Designed .ORG Website from Public Interest Registry and OmniStudio

Washington, DC (November 25, 2013) – The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is delighted to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in the .ORG Website Makeover Contest hosted by Public Interest Registry, the nonprofit organization created to manage the .ORG domain, with partner OmniStudio, a design and communications firm. Now through Friday, December 13, NNEDV’s members, partners, and supporters are encouraged to vote to help us win a newly designed website!

“Every day, we at NNEDV work tirelessly to end and prevent domestic violence across the country,” said Kim Gandy, President and CEO, “We wish our current website worked as hard, and we are excited about the possibility of developing a new website that will better serve those coming to NNEDV for leading-edge information and resources.”

NNEDV’s mission is to create a social, political, and economic environment in which violence against women no longer exists. In order to advance that mission, NNEDV interacts with a range of stakeholders in the movement to end domestic violence – from survivors to advocates to service providers to policymakers. Our website is the common thread that runs through all of our work – it is the entry and access point through which each of these stakeholders reach out to NNEDV, and a key place where we reach out to and communicate with them. A comprehensive, sophisticated, and user-friendly website is critical in enabling people to access the resource and information they need, and to participate in furthering our shared vision of a world without abuse.

Members and supporters of NNEDV, and the general public, are able to cast one vote per day in support of NNEDV’s quest to become the contest winner. The winner will collaborate with OmniStudio to redesign and develop a new .ORG website to advance their mission. The public voting period is open until Friday, December 13.

The .ORG Website Makeover Contest is hosted by Public Interest Registry as part of an ongoing effort to empower nonprofit organizations and groups to effectively advance their causes online. OmniStudio has teamed up with Public Interest Registry for the contest as a part of its annual ReachOut Project. Now in its fifth year, OmniStudio ReachOut 2014 aims to help charities and nonprofits revitalize their visual branding to better attract volunteer participation, donations and media attention.
