Chief Executive Officer Exempt
Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency, seeks an experienced professional organization as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Each year, Rose Brooks Center reaches over 14,000 individuals and their pets, with a mission to end the cycle of domestic violence. Rose Brooks Center is a 501(c)(3) organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $8 million.

The CEO serves as chief executive of Rose Brooks Center and reports directly to the Board of Directors and the Board Executive Committee. Together with the Board, the CEO provides vision and leadership and is responsible for the success of the organization. The CEO assures the accomplishment of the agency’s mission, vision, values and philosophies, relevance to the community and the accountability to those we serve. The CEO will lead and have final decision making authority on all significant decisions impacting the organization including but not limited to personnel practices and matters, mentoring, preparation of a strategic plan outlining priorities and resource allocation for Board approval, maintaining relationships with key donors and community leaders, maintaining strong ratings from charity rating agencies, strategic decisions regarding resource allocation, new programs or program modifications, oversight of accounting, financial reporting and grant applications and compliance.

Principle Responsibilities:
• Responsible for safeguarding the fiscal integrity of Rose Brooks Center, managing all aspects of the agency’s fiscal condition including managing actual and expected cash flows, and maintaining the excellent reputation the organization has earned with donors, community leaders, and charity rating agencies.
• Works with the CFO to submit an annual operating and capital budget to the board of Directors and ensuring financial statements are prepared accurately and timely.
• Maintains and manages all aspects of fund development efforts and donor relations, and oversees grant applications, grant compliance efforts and transparent financial reporting.
• Responsible for determining the mission, vision, values, and culture of the agency and setting and accomplishing strategic plan goals accordingly.
• Ensures Board is aware of current and anticipated trends, regulations, and opportunities to ensure continuity, sustainability and community relevance.
• Ensures the agency operates in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Provides executive level oversight to operations, including general oversight of day-to-day operations, fund development, grant management, financial/compliance, facilities management, and human resources.
• Serves as chief spokesperson for the agency.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and throughout the community.
• Performs all duties utilizing the principles of trauma informed care, accessibility, and equity and inclusion.

• Emergency Shelter/Pet Shelter-Provides a safe sanctuary where individuals, families, and pets are welcomed, wrapped in support, and can begin to heal. Shelter staff are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
• Therapy Services- Empowers adult and child survivors to reclaim their lives through the complex healing process.
• Bridge Program- Serves patients experiencing domestic violence from the safety of local hospitals and clinics.
• Project SAFE- School-based violence prevention program that provides therapy and support for children and teens dealing with domestic violence.
• Housing and Economic Advocacy- Assists survivors in finding safe, affordable housing that is free from violence and gain other skills needed to achieve economic stability.
• Court Advocacy- Advocates for and guides survivors through a complex court system.
• Police Advocacy-Works collaboratively with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department (KCPD), and includes the Lethality Assessment Program which serves those most at risk at a crucial point of access

Compensation: This is a full-time, exempt position. We offer a competitive total compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience/qualifications; medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer paid Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long Term Disability, supplemental insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Program; and generous paid time off that includes vacation, personal time, sick time, and 10 paid holidays per year.
