Domestic violence survivors and advocates yesterday presented a congressional briefing in Washington, D.C. and met with more than a dozen House and Senate offices to push for reauthorization of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA). They also came together with lawmakers to honor Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) for her years of leadership against domestic violence.

Verizon Wireless, a recognized corporate leader in domestic violence awareness and prevention, donated $25,000 to the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) to support its Women of Color Leadership initiative.
