Sue Else, President of NNEDV, earlier this week was recognized with the National Family Justice Center Alliance’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor marks Else’s many years of service to victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children.

NNEDV today announced a new partnership with the M·A·C AIDS Fund to raise awareness of the intersection of domestic and sexual violence and HIV/AIDS. The new initiative is part of a $2.5 million investment the M·A·C AIDS Fund is making to support women living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. “We are very excited to embark on this new, important project,” said Sue Else, NNEDV’s President.

Two years from today, the U.S. National Network to End Domestic Violence, as part of the Global Network of Women’s Shelters, will host the second World Conference of Women’s Shelters. Representatives from 2,500 domestic violence shelters in more than 75 countries will descend upon Washington, D.C. March 19-22, 2012 to address some of the greatest challenges victims face. “By bringing together victim advocates and grassroots activists, we hope to make a real difference in the lives of domestic violence survivors and their children the world over,” said Sue Else, president of NNEDV.
