NNEDV today announced that it will participate in the first annual No Woman, No Cry: Stop the Silence of Domestic Violence 5K Walk in memory of Jenny Vaughn-Bates, who was murdered by her abusive husband, who then took his own life, in 2010 in Prince William County, Va.

NNEDV hosted the first-ever "Chefs Take a Stand to End Domestic Violence," at Sequoia in D.C. on June 22. More than a dozen women chefs and mixologists served exquisite food and drinks to guests at the sold-out event. Paul Wharton, Celebrity Life Stylist and author of Pulling It All Together, was on hand as NNEDV's special guest. Chef Carla Hall, Top Chef finalist and co-star of ABC's upcoming series The Chew, served as the evening's auctioneer.

On Sunday, September 18, 2011, No Woman, No Cry: Stop the Silence of Domestic Violence will be hosting its first annual 5K Walk in memory of Jenny Vaughn-Bates, who was murdered by her abusive husband in 2010.  Proceeds from the Walk will benefit NNEDV and the Jenny Vaughn-Bates Memorial Trust Fund.
