On Saturday, September 14, 2013, No Woman, No Cry will host its third annual 5K walk/run in memory of Jennifer (Jenny) Vaughn Bates.  Jenny was murdered by her estranged husband in the early morning hours of September 18, 2010, only a few months after Jenny had decided to end her abusive marriage.  After abducting her from her home, her estranged husband shot her in the head and then turned the gun on himself.

Jenny left behind two young sons (aged 15 and 4 at the time of her death), as well as countless friends, family members, colleagues and patients.  Knowing that Jenny would want the tragedy of her death to have a purpose, "No Woman, No Cry" was born.  The inaugural 5K walk was held on the first anniversay of Jenny's death in September 18, 2011.  Through this annual event, No Woman, No Cry hopes to be able to provide support and give a voice to others who, like Jenny, suffered in silence.

NNEDV encourages you to support this tremendous cause by participating in the third annual No Woman, No Cry 5K.
