Before joining NNEDV as communications director, Brian Namey was the press secretary at the Democratic Governors Association. He managed media relations and implemented national and state-specific strategic communications plans. He also supported more than 52 gubernatorial campaigns. Namey was a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar at the University of Oxford, where he earned a master’s degree in comparative social policy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in ethics, history, and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Namey volunteered there as a crisis advocate for survivors of sexual assault.
